The clients should be aware that these are private properties located in residential neighborhoods, and as such, not all functions or events can necessarily be accommodated. Please be aware that the majority of the property owners will not accept a booking involving a function without prior confirmation that a function coordinator has also been employed.

How is the weather in Bali?

The climate of the Indonesian archipelago above and below the equator is tropical. In the lowlands, temperatures average between 21°C /70 F and 33°C/91 F, in the mountains they can be as low as 5°C/41F. Humidity varies but is usually high, between 60 % and 100 %.

Bali experiences two yearly seasons, a dry season from May to September/October, and a wet season from October/November to April. June to August is considered a very comfortable time to visit, as it is cooler. However, even during the so-called rainy season there is a good chance that there are sunny spells for most of the day or even for days in a row. The best advice is to check the estimated weather for the planned travel period on the internet.

What do I have to bring to Bali?

Keep in mind that although you will be in the tropics, it can get cold in the mountains. Generally, you will want to dress light and wear natural fibers that absorb perspiration. Please note that contact lens supplies for hard and soft lenses are available in major cities. For gas permeable lens wearers it is still necessary to come well-stocked.

Bali’s department stores, supermarkets and pharmacies provide a large variety of necessary items you might need.

On your travels you will meet people who are kind and helpful to you. It is acceptable that you offer money for a favor or help, but if the person energetically refuses, let it be and simply thank them. Children enjoy a small gift such as a candy bar, biscuits or pens.

If you lose your passport, it is difficult to get new documents to leave the country unless you have the proper official report from the police. Always keep a photocopy of your passport, visa and driving license separate from the originals. You can then prove your identity to your consulate in Bali in case of theft or loss.

What should I bring if traveling with children?

Fortunately for those traveling with children, the Balinese are very gentle and love to have kids around. Babysitters are available for a moderate charge at any property.

If traveling with a baby or toddler, bring essentials such as sun hats, sunscreen, any creams, mosquito repellent, medicines, special foods, diapers, and a separate water container for babies to be sure of always having sterile water. Disposable diapers are available in large supermarkets, as well as a variety of baby items. As for food, fresh pasteurized milk, powdered milk, eggs, fruit that you can peel and porridges are readily obtainable. Usually babies are happiest just with a nappy but for certain times of the day you might want to have a mosquito net over their cot. Bring swim diapers in case you want to take your baby along for a swim in the pool or in the ocean.

To protect older children from the sun, bring high protection sunscreen, sun hats, sunglasses, light shirts with long sleeves and light long pants. Nights can be cool sometimes, so some warm clothing might be helpful.

Do I need a driving license if I want to drive on Bali?

You are required to have a valid international driving license with you when you drive a car or motorbike.

Which kind of electrical plugs are used in Bali?

Most of Bali has converted to 220 volts and 50 cycles, though a few places are still on the old 110 lines. If in doubt, ask the staff before you plug in. Power failures are common in smaller towns and villages. Voltage can fluctuate considerably; we recommend the use of a stabilizer for computers and similar equipment. Plugs are of the European two-pronged variety. Check with the staff at the property where you are staying as many make adapters available for you to use during your stay. They can also be purchased locally.
